It’s located in the highlands two hours north of Quito, a short distance from the town of Cotacachi, enclosed by the impressive beauty of the two neighboring volcanos, Imbabura and Cotacachi. In a secluded fantasy property, you can discover this hotel with luxurious décor, among lush gardens and beautiful flowers whose fragrance infuses the air, where everything exudes its own magic.
Guests are welcomed to rooms or suites with fireplaces and bouquets of roses and natural orchids. Guests can choose among 23 rooms, a single or double room, a suite, a luxury suite or a family suite. No two rooms are alike. Each one has its own personality, be it due to different size or style or its particular place somewhere around the marvelous gardens.
The rooms are decorated with art, local and European. They come equipped with fine linens, soft towels, a bathrobe and comfortable slippers. Also, a personal safe, cable, digital phone and high speed internet.

Days at La Mirage start with a delicious breakfast served from 7:30 to 10:30 am in the Colibrí Garden Restaurant. It’s a cool spot, surrounded by wild flowers, canaries, peacocks and hummingbirds. Lunch is a culinary feast thanks to the semi-formal El Patio Restaurant’s wide variety of exquisite choices.
Dinner is truly a magical experience. The ambience in the Formal Restaurant is elegant, with candle light and first class service, where the cuisine aims to delight with its contemporary ecuadorean gourmet dishes.
Pandora Lounge provides a quiet relaxing area for guests looking to enjoy good music, a drink or just to savor life. Its rooms have fireplaces decorated in neoclassical style, as in the European palaces.
The spa is next to the indoor pool heated with solar energy. It’s an outpouring of luxury conceived to spoil our guests. The most demanding expectations are surpassed because we understand the concept that mind, body and spirit are interconnected. Consequently, you can certainly look forward to a unique experience in the hands of our outstanding therapists.
The massage and treatment menu is so varied that choosing one is not easy. In our exotic rooms, under a dim light, you can enjoy facial massages, reflexology, aromatherapy and cleansing treatments.
One option, Lavender Lux, is given in an environment marked by the colors and fragrance of this aromatic and healing plant, known for its power to strengthen the immune system and induce relaxation. Or you can choose the adventurous Bath of Equatorial Energy, which includes stones energized by the equatorial sun and crystal formations found among the volcanic rocks in this mystical area. Another possibility is a rejuvenating Cleopatra’s Bath, a mix of milk, massage oils and aromatic fragrances, a delicate process that extends for two fantastic hours.
There is also the Cleansing Room. Here a female healer, a shaman, who inherited generations of knowledge and experience from her Father, one of the best known healers of the region, provides ancestral treatments with therapeutic benefits.
The social spaces have an eclectic decor, where modern details mix with classic fireplaces and spectacular views of the Andean landscape. The march of the peacocks adds a unique touch. The great cultural diversity and natural wealth in this region are quite special. Cotacachi is considered a privileged city within Imbabura province. From here you can schedule tours to the nearby attractions such as the Indian market in Otavalo, Peguche Waterfall, Condor Park, San Pablo lake, Yaguarcocha lagoon and Cuicocha, a lake inside a volcanic crater.
