The hustle of daily life in Quito motivated me to seek a relaxed atmosphere for lunch. There are many and very good options, but I decided for a taste with an oriental flavor.
Tanoshii Restaurant has the ability to stop time. The noise of the street ceases, the coming and going of people disappears to give way to a calm and serene space in which a sophisticated atmosphere unfolds. It is located in the basement of Swissotel, which sounds strange, but it really is a privileged place to escape the mundane.
Four people in my party, just an ordinary day to enjoy the pleasures of good food. We didn´t have the pleasure to greet Miguel Enríquez, the chef, but the attention we received was superb. The menu offers a huge variety of delicious alternatives from which we chose several dishes to share: yasai (vegetable) tempura and edamame as starters; And then the delicious volcano roll, prawn tempura roll, the albacore special, and a maki ebikani. The presentation of each dish was a wonderful anticipation of what it was to feel the fresh ingredients used in their preparation.
The sublime combination of exotic flavors that caressed our palates added to the pleasant company that shared my table. The satisfaction exceeded our expectations, but in Tanoshii that always happens.
